Message of President Aquino to Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines on the occasion of their 34th Anniversary, October 17, 2013

Message
of
His Excellency Benigno S. Aquino III
President of the Philippines
To Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines
On the occasion of their 34th Anniversary

[October 17, 2013]

My warmest greetings to Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines as you celebrate your 34th Anniversary with a dinner-dance dubbed Sariling Atin.

The challenges of today’s globalized milieu have given our people an avenue to exhibit our indomitable spirit and a deeper brand of patriotism. Indeed, Filipinos from everywhere in the world stand today, resolute and proud, as we soar to greater heights and push our nation’s horizons further. Our solidarity as a people drives us forward in our pursuit of an equitably progressive Philippines, and we in government are grateful to organizations such as yours that willingly extend a helpful hand to our kababayans in need.

We thank you for providing the much needed support for our less privileged students to encourage them to heed their passions, fulfill their dreams, and lead dignified, meaningful lives. May you continue to cultivate this culture of renewed hope and optimism, as together, we fulfill our nation’s great potential.

I wish you a happy and engaging event, and continued fortitude and success in coming years.

(Sgd.)
